    A device for attaching staple elements is described. It comprises a feeder for advancing the clamping element in the single-clamp rail (1) and a driver for depressing the clamping element in the substrate. The feeder (3) is formed with a first upper part (5) guided over the staple rail (1), and is formed with a second part (6) directed downwards from the first upper part (5), designed to support the feed clamp elements (4).     The clamping element is in this case at its outer parts 10,11 on the underside formed with shallow recesses 16, 17. The advantage of this design is that the clamping element 4 after attachment will allow some ventilation of moisture under its horizontal part 9.
    In a suitable design of the clamping element 4, the releasably attached to the rear clamping element is held by means of three small attachment points, distributed on the back of the outer parts (10, 11) of the clamping element and its vertical part (14).
